Instructions
Muffins
  1. Preheat oven to 180 Deg C and prepare muffin tin - I used Spray and Cook
  2. Melt butter
  3. Mix together flour, baking powder and sugar
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together milk, egg, Milo and butter
  5. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix. Mix in the chopped chocolate
  6. Pour into the muffin tin and bake for 20 minutes
  7. Remove the muffins from the oven, let cool in the tin for a few minutes and transfer onto a wire rack to cool
Chocolate Sauce
  1. While the muffins are baking, put all the sauce ingredients into a pot on the stove. Gently melt the chocolate and mix.
  2. Once the muffins have cooled, place them on a pretty plate and pour the sauce over the muffins. Sprinkle with any decorations you have in the cupboard.
Recipe Notes
  • Don't choose a pretty plate that has holes, all the chocolate sauce will fall onto the counter
  • You don't really need to serve the muffins with a sauce, but I had coconut cream leftover from a botched attempt to whip coconut cream for breakfast over the weekend.  I'm not sure what happened, I think I over beat it, then split it and made foam. We had fancy coconut foam on our  banana crumpets ... I'm sure the sauce will taste just as delicious without the step of splitting it and foaming it
  • Always let your children help you to make the muffins and lick the bowls - even if it is after bedtime, that's what holidays and birthdays are all about
